Who we are

Built by people who understand that real working lives are complex, non-linear, and deeply human—and that the best guidance comes from those who've walked similar roads before you.

Our 'why'

A shared belief that work must be better.

AMillionPaths was built from a shared view that the world of work needs to be better than it is today.

Most of us were taught to believe careers move in straight lines: choose a role, follow the steps, keep progressing. But real working lives don’t behave like that, and the world of work is changing right in front of us. People move sideways, pause, restart, retrain, care for others, take risks, get stuck, get pulled forward by opportunity, and often rely on someone else’s insight at exactly the right moment.

AMillionPaths exists to make those real paths visible, in a way that’s useful, human, and true. Not a place for performance or self-promotion, but a practical library of lived experience that helps others navigate change with more confidence, and a clearer sense of what’s possible.

Gil brings over 50 years’ experience helping people navigate work and life decisions and has seen, up close, how often good people get stalled by unclear options, poor information, or a lack of support.

Our approach

A more human way to navigate careers.

We’re not a big, flashy tech company and we’re not trying to become one. We’re not here to strip the humanity out of work, reduce people to keywords, or turn career decisions into something cold and transactional. If anything, we’re moving in the opposite direction: toward something slower, more relational, and grounded in real lives.

This is the very first release, and it only works if members choose to contribute their Path; the roles, learning, experiences, and turning points that can help someone else take a step. From there, we’ll continue to build new and genuinely useful features over time  designed to deepen connection, make pathways easier to see, create, and help people move forward with greater confidence.

We’re building this from Tasmania, where community and connection are part of who we are  at our best. In a world where many have lost the “village” that once helped people through life’s transitions, we’re trying to model it again;  with care, clarity, and practical help, starting right here.

With UTAS, AMillionPaths is working to bridge the gap between education and employment—empowering people to navigate their futures with confidence and clarity.

AMillionPaths is an invite-only platform.

You can only join if someone already inside invites you — but we’re building this together, and we’d love to hear from people who believe in what we’re creating.
